Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Donald Jay Hinderaker was born on March 7, 1960 in Story City to Charles and Patty (Hoversten) Hinderaker. After high school, Don enlisted in the US Navy from 1978 to 1982. He married Deb Kuhns on July 31, 1999. Don worked as a mechanic working on mainly farm equipment. His greatest joy was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Don passed away December 14, 2018 at his home in Story City at the age of 58 after a battle with cancer.

Don is survived by his wife Deb of Story City; his mother, Patty Hoversten of Story City; his children, Jamie (Mike) Nordeen of Cambridge, Erik (Amy) Witt of Ellston, IA , Thad (Kate) of Creston and Cody (Nikki) Witt of Story City; his grandchildren, Gordon (McKayla) Witt of Minot, ND, Kaden and Jaesa Angell of Creston, Karlee Lykins Witt of Story City, Teller Witt of Creston, Harley Tommi, Toni and Tessi Van Scoy of Creston, Marcus and Max Sota of Clear Lake, and Reese Regan and Winton Guiter of Creston; his brother, Tom (Angie) Hinderaker of Story City; his sister, Julie (John) Wilson of Story City; his grandmother, Margie Hoversten of Corning; a brother-in-law, Jason (Rikki) Kuhns of Adel and a sister-in-law Denise Kuhns of Belton, MO.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hinderaker, his in-laws, Russell and Sharon Kuhns; a brother-in-law, George Kuhns and grandparents, Glen Hoversten, Bill and Dorothy Appelgate and Chester and Mae Hinderaker.
