Former Nevada Woman Passed Away In California

Funeral services were held this afternoon in San Francisco, Cal., for Mrs. Dan Rees, former resident of this city who passed away in San Francisco Monday, June 17, at 8:15 p. m., after a short illness. Following the short service her body will be cremated and the ashes later returned to Nevada for committal by the side of the husband who passed away in Nevada, May 2, 1908.

Agnes McCambridge Rees was born in Wischa, Scotland, October, 1865, one of seven children born to John and Ruth Gould McCambridge. She came to America with her parents when but a small girl, the family locating first in Youngstown, Ohio, and later in Angus, Ia., where the the father was connected with the mining industry.

She was married in Jefferson, Ia., on Dec. 18, 1882 to Daniel Rees, a baker. The family moved to Nevada at the age of 49 years, leaving his wife with five small children, all of whom survive her.

She was a woman with a host of friends who admired her courage and resourcefulness in the raising of her fine family. About ten years ago she went to California where she made her home with her eldest son, Otis Rees and wife, in San Francisco.

Surviving her are the following children: Grace, Mrs. Frank Paine of Ames; Otis of San Francisco, Cal.; Charles B. Rees of Nevada; Dan Rees, who lives in Redwood, Cal., and Ruth Rees-Talbott of Los Angeles, Cal.

She is also survived by four grandsons and two granddaughters, Frank and Rees Paine of Ames, Elizabeth, Charles Jr., Jean and Paul Rees of Nevada.
