Mrs. Frances Pryor Died Early Today After Long Illness

Mrs. Frances Pryor, 85, of 415 I avenue, pioneer Nevada resident, died at about 5 o'clock this morning at Iowa sanitarium, after a lingering illness, having been in the hospital since March.

Funeral rites for Mrs. Pryor, widow of John Pryor, Civil War veteran, who died January 20, 1926, will be held on Friday at 2 p. m., at the Morfoot funeral home. Interment following in the Nevada cemetery by the side of the body of her husband. Rev. Murdock will be in charge.

Mrs. Pryor was a native of Malden, Illinois, where she was born April 20, 1857, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Washington Shugart.

She came to Iowa with her parents as a young girl and it was here that she was married on February 21, 1877, to John Pryor, a young Civil War veteran.

They made their home in this community the whole of their married lifetime and it was here that he passed away after a long invalidism on January 30, 1926.

Five children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Pryor, two of whom have preceded the mother in death. The eldest John, Jr., passed away in 1923 and the son Charles died in an accident in New York April 15, 1937. The survivors are the daughter Kitty Wilkins whose home is in Chicago and the sons Arthur of Clear Lake and Harry, farmer of near Nevada.
