34-year-old is killed by a hemorrhage

A brain hemorrhage was fatal for Raymond Edward Pierce, age 34 of Dunbar, who died later Sunday evening, July 5.

Pierce had just finished coaching a 6 p.m. Little League game near Marshalltown when he became ill and was taken to the Marshalltown hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8 at the Lutheran Church in Dunbar, five miles south of LeGrand. Graveside services will follow in the Nevada Cemetery.

Pierce is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Pierce of Nevada. He is survived by his parents, his wife Marge, three sons, Mike 14, Eddie 12, Doug 10, and one daughter Laura, 6.

Also four sisters and three brothers: Beverly Yeager, Des Moines, Sandra Corbin, Des Moines, Donna Dash, Nevada, Ruth Yocom, Denver, Colo., Robert Pierce, Des Moines, Alvin Pierce, Nevada, and Jim Pierce, Denver.
