Martin Olson is Dead at Story City at Age of 71

Martin S. Olson who was born near Story City August 4, 1895, died at his home in Story City Saturday noon. He was the son of Ole M. and Martha Olson and was a painter by trade until his retirement about seven years ago. He was a Veteran of World War I when he served in the United States Navy.

Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Harold T. Masted in charge. Burial will be in Story City Municipal Cemetery. Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home of Story City is in charge of services.

Survivors are his wife, Lydia, two daughters, Sharlene (Mrs. Donald Lorenz) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Valdora (Mrs. Paul Otto) of Forest City; a son, S/Sgt. Eugene Martin Olson, a member of the United States Air Force station at Yokota, Japan, ten grandchildren and one sister, Miss Louise Olson of Story City. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two half brothers and a half sister.
