Last Rites For Wm. Mcintosh Held Wednesday Afternoon

Funeral services for the late Wm. Mcintosh, 71, native of Story county who had lived his entire life in this community, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Morfoot Funeral Home.

The Rev. E. P. Windman of Memorial Lutheran church officiated at the funeral service which was followed at the church by the ritualistic service of Odd Fellows.

Harry Christiansen was at the organ playing a number of appropriate hymns.

The floral offerings and the large number in attendance, attested to the esteem in which the deceased was held in this community.

The casket bearers were Al Hansen, Allen Vail, E. B. Ayers, George Patterson, Clyde Stewart and Guy French.

The following obituary was read by Rev. Windman:

"William Richard Mcintosh was born May 7, 1874 in Story County and died Nov. 25th, 1945 at Olney, Illinois, where he was visiting at the home of his daughter.

For 27 years he and his father were in the transfer and coal business in Nevada. He also spent several years farming.

He was married on July 4, 1895 to Gertrude Jordan, who preceded him in death four years ago.

To this union were born six children, Harry, Nevada; Beatrice, Olney, Ill.; Herman, Little Falls, Minnesota; Lowell, Burlington; Alvin and Grant at Ames. There are eight grand children. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Dee Hemstock, Boone and Mrs. Amanda Donnell of Greenfield, N. Y.

Wm. Mcintosh had the distinction of being a continuous member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Nevada for the longest number of years. Just recently he was honored by the Lodge and presented with a 50 year badge.

He also leaves a host of friends who join with his family in paying tribute to his memory."

Among the immediate relatives from out of town in attendance at the funeral service were Mr. and Mrs. Herman Mcintosh, Dick and Margo of Little Falls, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Orville Fry of Olney, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Lowell McIntosh of Burlington; Mr. and Mrs. Grant Mcintosh and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Mcintosh and Marlene of Ames.
