Mrs. Wm. Mcintosh Dies Today After Lingering Illness

Mrs. William McIntosh, 67, died at 6 a. m. today at her home at 721 Third street, Nevada, after an illness covering a period of three years or more.

Funeral rites will be Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Morfoot funeral home with her pastor, Dr. J. O. Simon in charge. Burial will be in the McIntosh family lot in the Nevada cemetery.

Gertrude Jordan was born at Canyon City, Colo., July 7, 1874, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Jordan, and there her mother died. She was brought to Iowa as a young girl by the late Major Hawthorne and here she lived in the H. M. Funston, C. A. Wood and Arthur Dean homes before being married on July 4, 1895, to William R. McIntosh.

To this union six children were born, one daughter and five sons and they with the husband and six grandchildren, are left to mourn her passing.

The children are Bea Fry of Olney, Ill., Harry, at home, Herman at Little Falls, Minn., Grant at Ames, Lowell of Burlington and Alvin of Humboldt. All of the children have been home recently to visit with the mother and to assist in her care.

Mr. McIntosh closely devoted to her home and family, was a member of the Memorial Lutheran church and --- affiliated Mission --- society of the W. R. C. and the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
