STORY CITY UP--Funeral services for Mrs. Henry Luglan were held Friday afternoon, June 6 in the Immanuel Lutheran church, Story City at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Harold T. Masted officiating.
Mrs. Luther Matson and Mrs. John Howell sang two duets, "Beyond the Sunset" and "Adie With Me," accompanied by Louise Olson.
Pall bearers were Dr. H. M. Kahley, Dr. E. E. Langland, Elmer Jensen, Joe Donhowe, Arnold Johnson and Irving Wierson. Burial was in the Story City Municipal cemetery.
Life Sketch
Mrs. Henry Luglan, 95, died Wednesday, June 4, at 2:00 a.m. at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Howell in Story City, after a lingering illness.
Dorothea Rorem was born April 18, 1863 on the Rorheim farm on Omboe Island in Stavanger Fjord in Norway. She came to this country at the age of eighteen.
She was married to Henry Luglan at Rowe Station near Pontiac, Ill. on May 5, 1911. He preceded her in death twelve years ago.
Survivors are four sons and two daughters: Orey Luglan, Kerrville, Texas, Gus Luglan, Ames, Mrs. Grace Butler, Des Moines, Helmer D. Luglan, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Mrs. B. M. Howell, Story City and Arthur Luglan, Eldora; also eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Out of the fifteen years that Mrs. Luglan spent in Story City, she lived thirteen years with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Howell.
