Timothy Keefe, 96, Died Last Night, Funeral Wed.

Timothy Keefe, for many years a resident of Story county, passed away last night at 10 o'clock at the Old People's Home in Boone at the age of 96 years. Death was do to a cerebral hemorrhage.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Morfoot Funeral Home with Rev. C. E. Lookingbill officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery by the side of the wife who passed away in Nevada 19 years ago.

Mr. Keefe was born in Indiana January 10, 1851, a son of Luke and Margaret Keefe. The family moved to Hamilton county, Iowa, when Timothy was a boy of ten years, coming later to Story county, the family living for years of a farm nine miles south of Nevada which was the Keefe homestead for many years.

Timothy Keefe and Julia Alice Seal were married at Cambridge, March 25, 1878. To this union eight children were born. The daughter Blanche Force and the son Earl Keefe, and the mother, have all preceded the husband and father in death.

Surviving are Mrs. A. H. Mahannah of Ames, Mrs. Lola Hart of Boone, Mrs. Mildred Berry of Arlington, Va., Clyde of Seneca, S. D., Clark of Salem, S. D., and Earl of Rockford, Ill.

He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

For the past 14 years Mr. Keefe has been cared for by his daughter, Mrs. Lola Hart, also making trips to the various homes of his children since the death of the wife and mother.
