Former resident dies in Boone

Mrs. Bertha Kahrs, a former Story County resident, died in the Boone County Hospital Monday morning at the age of 88.

A native of Hanover, Germany, she was born May 12, 1879, the daughter of Henry and Julia Ludwig. She was a resident of Story County most of her life and a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include a brother, Walter Ludwig, Boulder, Colo.; two nieces, Mrs. Fern Hobson and Mrs. Neva Borts, Zearing. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her husband, E.S.D. Kahrs, who died in 1955.

Funeral services will be at the Ryan Funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. M. C. Shupe will officiate. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
