GEORGE WHERRY BURIED TUESDAY

Funeral At Lutheran Church, Fernald; Died Sunday.

Funeral services for George L. Wherry, age 63, well known resident of Fernald, who died Sunday afternoon at four o'clock at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, where he submitted to an operation for the removal of a cancer on Tuesday of last week, were held from the home, then at the Lutheran church at Fernald, at 3:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. Wherry would have been 63 years of age on May 25 and had been a resident of this county for many years. He leaes his wife, one son, Clarence, who lives upon the home place and a daughter, Mrs. Ira N. Vail, of near Zearing.

He also leaves three brothers, they being, H. M. and J. F. Wherry, the former living northeast of Fernald and the latter in Fernald, and C. A. Wherry, formerly of Nevada, who now lives at Ottawa, Kan.

The body was brought up from Des Moines Sunday night and was taken to the family home at Fernald. The brother, C. A. Wherry, was here from Ottawa for the funeral.
