DEATHS
LEWIS C. LUND
Funeral services for Lewis C. Lund were held in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City at 2 p.m. on October 2 with the Rev. Harold T. Masted officiating. Delbert Quam was the soloist accompanied by Miss Louise Olson, organist. Pallbearers were Clarence Johnson, Omer Westre, Hellie Swenson, Hiram Anderson, Clarence Hove, Edwin Hauge, Hawley Peterson and William Chalma. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
Lewis C. Lund was born in Story City on September 20, 1893. He spent his boyhood life in the Jewell Community. He was baptized at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, west of Story City. He served in military service during the first world war, spending eleven months overseas in France.
In 1947 he moved to Story City where he joined the Immanuel Lutheran Church. He entered Crest View Manor in 1966.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Iver K. and Julia Lund and a brother, Martin Lund.
He is survived by a brother, Irvin of Jewell; a sister Amanda (Mrs. Harry O. Scott) of Des Moines, and a foster sister, Julia (Mrs. Rex Ettchie) of Minneapolis.
