FUNERAL OF MRS. HILL

Was Held From Methodist Church Saturday.

The body of late Mrs. P. K. Hill of Bagley accompanied by relatives was brought to Nevada where funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Methodist church conducted by Rev. R. M. Shipman. The local post of the G. A. R. attended in a body out of respect to Mr. Hill and Mr. G. W. Hemstock both of whom are veterans of the Civil war. The burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

Mrs. P. K. Hill passed away at her home in Bagley, Ia., Wednesday, Oct. 12, 1921, aged 72 years, 8 months and 2 days, death being due to a stroke of paralysis from which she never rallied.

Hortense Hemstock was born Jan. 21, 1849, near Rochelle, Ill. She moved with her parents to a farm near Nevada in 1869.

She was married to Preston K. Hill, Feb. 15, 1871 in Nevada. they resided on a farm near Nevada until 1881, when they moved to Bagley where they have since resided. She with her husband and children celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Feb. 15, 1921. She was a member of the Methodist church a Bagley and of the Women's Relief Corps.

To this union were born four children who with the aged husband mourn her departure. They are Mrs. Thomas Jackson, Mr. J. B. Hill, Mr. Harry Hill and Mr. Algernon Hill. There are also three daughter-in-laws one son-in-law, thirteen grand children and two great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers and three sisters, Mr. G. W. Hemstock of Nevada, Mr. D. E. Hemstock of Lyons, Mrs. Mary Giles of Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Lottie Tooker of Dairy, Oregon and Miss Martha Hemstock of Fresno, Calif. She also leaves a number of nieces and nephews.

Among those attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jackson and son Eldon of Perry, Mr. J. B. Hill of Ladd, Ill., Mr. Harry Hill of Racine, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Algernon Hill and children of Ladd, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Canfield of Grundy Center and Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Bloomburg of Perry.
