Funeral Services for Hankins Child Largely Attended

The funeral services for little Sharon Mae Hankins was held in Memorial Lutheran church Saturday at 2:30 p. m. conducted by the pastor.

Two songs were sung by Mrs. Howard Hilburn and Mrs. J. O. Simon. The songs were "Jesus Savious, Pilot Me" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." there were many beautiful floral tributes. A large company of friends and relatives were in attendance to show their deep sorrow and sympathy to these young parents so sorely bereft. The little body was laid to rest in the Nevada cemetery.

Sharon Mae Hankins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Hankins, was born Aug. 10, 1937 at the Iowa Sanitarium. She was in perfect health until she developed pneumonia from which she had recovered when she suddenly became ill on Monday afternoon, Feb. 21, 1938. She was rushed to the Iowa Methodist hospital in Des Moines where she was under the care of a baby specialist. She was dangerously ill all night but seemed somewhat better at seven o'clock in the morning. At ten o'clock she was again put under an oxygen tent but rapidly became worse and she passed away at noon Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1938.

She was baptized by Rev. F. J. Wurtz of St. John's Lutheran church of Des Moines.

To her mother and daddy she was the most beautiful baby in the world and their loss will never be told by words, but they have only beautiful memories of her which comforts them.
