Last Rites Here For Mrs. Lee Hall
Funeral services for Bertha Ann Hall were held from the Evangelical United Brethren church in Nevada Monday, Feb. 18 at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Donald M. Gruber officiating.
Mrs. Howard Erickson, soloist, sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "Beautiful Garden of Prayer". She was accompanied by Miss Beeula Settle at the organ.
The many beautiful flowers were cared for by Mrs. Wesley McDaniel and Mrs. Wilbur Myers.
The casket bearers were Robert Allen, Reid Vetter, Ronald Spooner, Donald Williams, Wendell Williams and Lyle Weeks.
Burial was made in Memorial Gardens cemetery in Ames.
Obituary
Bertha Ann Glasgow Hall, daughter of David and Clista Glasgow, was born on a farm near Iowa Center on April 25, 1881.
She departed from this life on Feb. 15, 1957 at the Story County Hospital in Nevada, Iowa.
On Sept. 4, 1901, she was married to Leroy Wilmer Hall. She lived most of her life in Story county, with the exception of four years in Carter, Okla.
She was a member of the E. U. B. church at Iowa Center, then subsequently at Elwell and Nevada.
Nine children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Hall, all of whom are living. Surviving are her husband, Lee Hall of the Mellor Nursing Home at Ames; three sons, Leon of Nevada, Harold of Colo, and Forrest of Los Angeles, Calif. Six daughters: Irene, Mrs. Marshall Allen of Ames, Hazel, Mrs. Irvin Williams of Nevada; Helen, Mrs. Claude Spooner of Des Moines, Doris, Mrs. Henry Weeks of Colo., Kathryn, Mrs. George Mitchell of Rapid City, S. D. and Margaret, Mrs. Dale Lansdowne of San Diego, Calif.
Also two sisters, Mrs. Tracy Dunahoo of Nevada and Mrs. Zeva Doggett of Ames; and two brothers, Ernie Glasgow of Maxwell and Mark Glasgow of Marshalltown.
Also surviving are 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
