Obituary for Eugene Perry Baker

Eugene Baker 90, of Gilbert died October 1, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Friday, October 12, at Rose Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery in Marshalltown.

Eugene was born in Sac City, January 13, 1928 to Oliver P. and Nellie J. Baker. He graduated from LeGrand High School in 1946 and worked for Story County until joining the Army May 23, 1946, he was honorably discharged April 7, 1948. Eugene married Myrna L. Holmes June 25, 1949 in Waterloo. He was a carrier for the Ames Post Office for 35 years retiring in 1983.

Eugene is survived by four children, Bonnie Baker of Charlotte, NC; Linda Byers of Maricopa, AZ; Myrene Baker of Gilbert, Gary Baker of Boone; granddaughter, Stephanie Breon of Orlando, Fl. and one sister.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Myrna; brothers; sisters and one grandson.
