Funeral Service For Mrs. Ella Albaugh Friday Afternoon

Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Albaugh, longtime resident of Nevada, who passed away at the Memorial hospital in Primghar on Tuesday, August 7, follwoing a paralytic stroke which she suffered five months ago, was held from the Ryan Funeral Home, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

The Reverend O. E. Cooley of the Nevada Methodist church, assisted by Rev. C. E. Lookingbill, was in charge of last rites.

Mrs. Ansel Freeland sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Abide With Me." Mrs. Norman Dobson was at the piano.

The flowers, which were many and beautiful, completely banked the side of the room where the body lay in state.

The pall bearers were E. B. Ayers, Merrill Marshall, Alfred Hansen, W. H. Harlan, Marvin Smith and Harry Louks.

The Revedah funeral ceremony at the graveside was in charge of Rebekah Lodge No. 234 with Rev. Cooley giving the final prayer. Burial was by the side of the husband who passed away in Nevada in 1926.

The following obituary was read at the funeral service:

"Ella Alice Albaugh was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Fuller. She was born in Linn county, Iowa.

"She was married to Frank L. Albaugh. Four children were born to this union: Elsie Green now of Sutherland, Ia., twin sons, Lester C. of Huntington Park, Calif., and Leslie F. of Trout Creek, Mich. A son, Earl, passed away in infancy.

"About 50 years ago Mrs. Albaugh moved to Story county. Most of the 50 years was spent in Nevada.

"Mr. Albaugh passed away in 1926.

"On February 23, last, Mrs. Albaugh suffered a stroke and was taken to Primghar, Iowa, where she might be near her daughter. On August 7 she passed away at Memorial hospital in Primghar.

Mrs. Albaugh was raised in the Methodist faith.

She belonged to the Rebekah Lodge and had held all the offices in the local lodge. She was grand chaplain of state grand assembly. Also a member of Matriarch Encampment of Nevada, also of Canton auxiliary of Ames.

For a number of years she had been actively identified on the business street as saleslady and in other capacities.

She is survived by her daughter, Elsie Green, her twin sons Lester and Leslie and by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren."

Those from out of town in attendance at the funeral were:

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Green and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Green of Sutherland; Richard Green, SK2-c, U. S. Coast Guard, Baltimore, Md., Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Albaugh, Mrs. Del Van Note, Mrs. Ben Correll, Mrs. Avis Neff, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Holsinger and Mrs. Hotel of Cedar Rapids. Friends were also present from Ames and Jewell.
