Mathew Wm. Abbott Died at Ames Hospital

Mathew Wm. Abbott, 72, 616 Burnett avenue, Ames, and former Nevada resident, died Monday at 8:15 p.m. at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames where he had been a patient for 17 days.

Funeral servies will be held Thursday at the Duckworth Funeral home in Ames at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bryant of the Ames U.B. church in charge, assisted by Rev. Bell of Ames Nazarene church. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Mr. Abbott was born in Cambridge, April 26, 1877. He was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Sadie, four nieces, Helen Dirksen of Ames, Ardyce Elkins of Miami, Florida, Margaret Bacon of Chicago and Miss Lucille Abbott of Chicago and one nephew Emmett Abbott of Ames. He also leaves two great nieces, Velvett Abbott of Ames and Adrienne Elkins of Miami, Florida.

One brother, Howard Abbott, passed away four years ago.

Mr. and Mrs. Abbott made their home with Mrs. Helen Dirksen.
