Funeral Services Held For Stephen E. Dolph

Funeral services for Stephen Earl Dolph, who passed away at his home Wednesday afternoon at Woodburn, Iowa, were held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Collins Church of Christ with Rev. C. E. Lookingbill of Nevada officiating.

Two songs, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Sunrise Tomorrow" were sung by the quartet, Mrs. Mary Tomlinson, Mrs. T. E. Huntrods, Bradford Stevens and T. E. Huntrods, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. C. R. Stone.

The many beautiful floral offerings were cared for by Mrs. Dewey Kern, Mrs. James Sager, and Mrs. Ora Hanson.

Casket bearers were: Clyde Keagle, Dewey Kern, Andrew Johnstone, Lloyd Holland, Wilbur Lillard and C. R. Stone.

Interment was in the Collins Evergreen cemetery.

Obituary

Stephen Earl Dolph, son of Elmore and Achsah Dolph was born February 24, 1896, at Colo, Iowa. He departed this life on April 30, 1952, at the age of 56 years, two months and six days.

He was left an orphan at the age of three months and was cared for by his sister Elizabeth. He served his country during World War I and remained a faithful member of the American Legion.

He was married to Mona Link on April 29, 1924 and to this union were born five children, Mrs. Luella Rumbaugh of Collins, Mrs. Pauline Danner of Woodburn, and John, Marilyn and Carolyn, still at home. He lived near Collins all his life until 1944 when he and his family moved to the vicinity of LeRoy, Iowa, where he made his home at the time of his death. He was the youngest of twelve brothers and sisters.

Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. Four sisters, Emma Brown of Colo, Mrs. Bessie Granger of Colo Mrs. Mabel Trumm of Colo, Mrs. Clara Trowbridge of Modesto, Calif., and three brothers, George of Roland, Ed of Colo and Frank of Churdan survive him.

His passing is mourned also by his wife and children and three grandchildren besides many other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends attending the services were from Woodburn, Derby, Garden Grove, Maxwell, Colo, Collins, Cambridge, Nevada, Roland and Churdan.
