Last Rites For F. O. Bishop Held Monday

Funeral services for Frank O. Bishop, longtime Nevada business man, were held at the Ryan Funeral Home, Monday, May 24, at 1:00 p. m. with Rev. David Ash of the Nevada Methodist church officiating.

Burial was in the Springville, Iowa cemetery. The casket bearers at that place included Robert Rowell, Richard Rowell and Thomas Rowell of Cedar Rapids and J. V. Bishop, grandsons of the deceased.

The graveside services in Springville, which was the old home of Mr. Bishop, were very largely attended by relatives and friends.

The death of Mr. Bishop occurred May 21 in Ames where he had been in a nursing home for several weeks.

Mr. Bishop had been a resident of Nevada for thirty-four years. He had been engaged in business in the White Way Grocery, was later owner of funeral parlors located in the then People's Saving Bank Building as the corner of Sixth and Lincoln Way and later was owner and operator of the Bishop Funeral Home (now Ryan Funeral Home) which he sold to Lily Funeral Home. He had been retired about 16 years.

Mr. Bishop, who was born May 8,, 1870 in Springville, leaves his wife, Genta R. Bishop of Nevada, two sons, Don of St. Louis, Mo. and Harle J. Bishop of Des Moines and one daughter, Mrs. David L. Baker of Oklahoma City, Okla.

Three daughters preceded him in death. He also leaves a half-sister, Sara of Springville, nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Out of town relatives at the funeral in Nevada were Mr. and Mrs. Don Bishop and son of St. Louis, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Harle J. Bishop of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. David L. Baker of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Grove of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Axelson of Gowrie, Mrs. J. F. Faitsch of Faribault, Minn., Mrs. Glenn Carlstrom of Spencer, Rev. and Mrs. A. O. Bishop of Marshalltown and Mr. and Mrs. Bishop Whitaker of Glidden.

Out of town relatives here Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Willard Bentley of Glidden, Robert Powell and Richard Powell of Cedar Rapids, Jack Bishop of Ames and Mrs. Judy Bishop of Des Moines.
