Funeral Services for Keith R. Frazier Held Here Sunday

Funeral rites for Keith R. Frazier, 61, former Nevada man, who died at Omaha very suddenly from a heart attack on Wednesday, were held at the Morfoot Funeral Home, Sunday afternoon, followed by burial in the Frazier family lot in the Nevada cemetery.

The service was in charge of Rev. Jos. M. Kennedy of Central Presbyterian church, with Mrs. Armstrong at the organ. The floral offerings were very beautiful, and the chapel was well filled with relatives and old-time neighbors and friends from both Nevada and Colo.

The following life sketch of the deceased was read during the service:

Keith R. Frazier was the son of Robert A. Frazier and Mary Jane Frazier. He was born at Thomasboro, Ill., on Dec. 11, 1887, the second son in a family of five children--four sons and one daughter.

When Keith was about fourteen years of age, the family moved to Iowa and located in Nevada in 1892. Here Keith attended the local high school graduating with the class of 1897. He then attended Iowa University for two years of college work, after which he returned to Nevada where he entered into the grain business with his father.

In 1907 he went into business for himself, locating in Colo where he carried on his own grain business. After several years he transferred his business interests to Truesdale, Ia., not far from Storm Lake, where he made the home for his family. For the last four years, Mr. Frazier had been engaged in business in Omaha, Nebr., and he was actively engaged in business there at the time of his sudden death.

Mr. Frazier was married at Newton, Ia., Sept. 3, 1907, to Miss Myrtle McDole of Eddyville, Ia.

Their family home was established in Colo, where Mr. Frazier was then in business. One daughter, Marjorie, was born into their home and she remains today to sorrow in the loss of her father and to be of comfort to her mother, who today survives her husband. Mr. Frazier is also survived by his aged father, Robert A. Frazier of Nevada, and by one brother, Roy R. Frazier of Ames, and one sister, Mrs. Harry Langland of Nevada. The death of his younger brother, Vern Frazier, occurred in 1918, and that of his older brother, Pearl R. Frazier, in 1935.

When a young man in Nevada Mr. Frazier was affiliated with the Central Presbyterian church, and he has, throughout his lifetime, kept a wholesome interest in the work of the church and in other worthwhile enterprises.

He was greatly interested in athletics and as a young man actively participated in all major sports and, in later years, found this to be a most fascinating interest.

His sudden illness and death on Jan. 31, 1940, have come as a distinct shock to his friends and loved ones and his passing will be sorrowfully noted by all who valued his friendship.
