Mrs. Fetterhoff Died on Sunday

FUNERAL SERVICE AT HOME ON WEST LINCOLN AVENUE TUESDAY AFTERNOON

Funeral services for Mrs. B. A. Fetterhoff, 51, died at her home on West Lincoln avenue, Sunday morning at 7:00, will be held at the residence Tuesday afternoon at 2:00, with her pastor Rev. Geo. A. Lawton of the Methodist church in charge. Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Mrs. Fetterhoff, whose maiden name was Minnie Bernice Gear, was a daughter of Gordon F. and Lavina Gear and was born at Loomis, Neb., December 26, 1879. The family lived in Nebraska until 1893 when they moved to Nevada, where her home had since been with the exception of six years spent near Salem, S. D.

She was married March 4, 1897 to Benjamin A. Fetterhoff and they had lived practically all of their married life close or in Nevada.

Four children were born to them, but one son, Ira, died during the flu epidemic of 1918. In her death she leaves her husband, two sons Alvin and Harold and one daughter, Mrs. Sylvia Brooks of Oto and two grandchildren Louise and Warren Brooks. Besides these she leaves two sisters and three brothers. They are Mrs. W. S. Weaver of West Plains, Mo., Walter Gear of Nevada, Nellie Lane of Chicago, George Gear of Marshalltown and Charles Gear of Marshalltown, and eight nieces and nephews.

The husband and children, as well as all the brothers and sisters with the exception of Mrs. Weaver, had been at her bedside during her last hours.

Mrs. Fetterhoff had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church since childhood. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary and Pythian Sisters, as well as the Social Hour and Red Eagle Kensington club.

During her illness of over a year, during which time she realized that the Messenger of Death was surely drawing near, she had remained cheerful and put forth every effort possible to make it easy for the family and friends.

She had been ill since a year ago last October, and in March of last year went to the hospital at Iowa City where she submitted to an operation. There is developed that she was suffering from cancer of the pancreas, which was destined to prove fatal and she was returned home, where she has since remained, tenderly cared for in the home maintained by the elder son Alvin; in the absence of the father who had been ill and in a hospital.

It was during this long period that she showed her wonderful courage and fortitude for one so weak in bodily strength and vigor.
