DEATHS

MRS. LESTER DOOLITTLE

Funeral services for Mrs. Lester Doolittle were held from Grace United Methodist Church in Story City Friday afternoon, Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Paul E. Beckman officiating. Mrs. Dorrel Doolittle, organist, accompanied Mrs. Loren Tjernagel, who sang "How Great Thou Art" and "My God and I."

Pallbearers were John Wierson, Robert Hermanson Leonard Hermanson, Theroy Wierson, Willard Holm and T. M. Holm. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Agnes Jerene Doolittle was born in Story City on April 16, 1901 to Dan and Ann Olson. Shortly thereafter the family moved to California for a few years and then returned to the Story City Community. She was baptized and confirmed in the Bethel Lutheran Church and attended Story City High School.

On Feb. 19, 1920 she was united in marriage to Lester Doolittle and they farmed in the Story City Community all their married life.

She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church until illness curtailed her activities. She entered Story City Memorial Hospital June 14, 1968, and in September she was transferred to Story City Bethany Manor, where she lived until her death on Feb. 11, 1969. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, her parents, and a brother, Edgar who died at the age of 5 years.

She is survived by her son, Hubert, three grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Arthur (Mable) Hovland of Ingelwood, Calif. and three brothers, Arthur Olson of Van Nuys and Edgar and Merville Olson of Ingelwood, Calif.
