Nels Donhowe Dead Following Stroke at Story City Monday

Special to the Journal.

Story City, Dec. 24--Nels Donhowe, 59, native son of the community and a member of one of the early pioneer familielies of the Randall neighborhood, died Monay night at 11:30 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jasper Dale, where he had suffered a stroke of apoplexy on Sunday night, from which he never regained consciousness.

Mr. Donhowe had suffered a similar stroke about seven years ago from which he has since been partially invalided.

Born in the community, he had lived in or near Story City all of his life, the last few years in town.

He leaves his wife, daughters, Leva Dale of Story City, and Burnette Donhowe of Belle Plaine, and sons Lawrence of Randall, Richard of Jewell and Howard of Dubuque.

He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Sam Johnson of Story City and brothers John of Eagle grove and Peter of Story City.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 10:00 o'clock at St. Petri church with burial in the Story City cemetery.
