Former Story City Resident Dies

Word was received Saturday, May 22 by relatives of the sudden death of Mrs. John Donhowe of Pasadena, California, a former resident of Story City. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Vinje with whom Mr. and Mrs. Donhowe have made their home for the past five or six years.

Mr. Donhowe was for many years in the banking and mercantile business in Story City, before moving to Eagle Grove about 25 years ago where he continued in business until retiring and moving to Pasadena.

Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon in Story City at 1:30 p. m. at the Larson Funeral Home and at 2:00 p. m. at St. Petri Lutheran. The Rev. Ocee Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Mrs. Donhowe is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Arthur Vinje Pasadena, Calif., Mrs. Adrian Christensen, Northfield, Minn., Mrs. Jack Whitney, New York, N. Y., and Mrs. Brydon Myers of Chicago, Ill. One sisters, Mrs. Alice Hartman of Ames, two sons, Melbourne and Orlin preceded her in death.
