Services Here For C. A. Cunnington At Adventist Church

Funeral service was conducted for Chester Arthur Cunnington at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Nevada on Monday September 3, 1945.

Mr. Cunnington was born at Muncie, Indiana, July 10, 1902, a son of David and Elizabeth Cunnington and departed this life Aug. 31, 1945. He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife, Gladys Cunnington, eldest son Chester in the United States Navy, James and Loren in the United States Army and Philip and Phillis at home. He also leaves his mother, Elizabeth Cunnington of Muncie, Indiana, two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Crevison of Muncie, Indiana, Josephine Edwards of Berrien Springs, Michigan, three brothers, Charles and John of Seattle, Washington, William of Muncie, Indiana, and many other relatives and friends.

The church was decorated with a beautiful array of flowers tastily arranged by Mrs. Albert Olsen, Elders Miller and Larsen officiated, and comfort was spoken to the mourners from the text, "Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted." A duet composed of Mrs. Elmer Anderson and Mrs. Otho Kirk accompanied by Miss Elaine Anderson rendered the beautiful hymns, "Asleep in Jesus! Blessed Sleep" and "When I Shall Awake in That Fair Morns." Elmer Anderson, Frank Arnett, Walter Caviness, Dan Hornbacher, R. E. Lynn and Lester Wily were the pall bearers.

Mr. Cunnington was a devout Christian, and as he was laid to rest at the Nevada cemetery, the mourners were comforted by the hope of some day meeting him again in that better land where sorrow and death shall be no more.
