Wm. Coxworth, 95, Died This Morning; Services Monday
William Warren Coxworth, 95, long-time Nevada resident, 824 Ninth street, was found dead in bed about 5 o'clock this morning at his home. Death came as a shock to his family as he had been in his usual good health.
Funeral services are tentatively set for 2:30 Monday p. m. at the Morfoot Funeral home with Rev. E. R. Walter, pastor of the Nevada Evangelical United Brethren church in charge. Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.
Mr. Coxworth was born in Hunenbec, England, on April 15, 1854, and came to the United States when 15 yers of age. He lived in Peoria, southeast of Maxwell, and worked as a farm hand.
Surviving are his wife; the former Nellie Byrnes of Marshalltown; one son, Ed, and eight daughters, Mrs. Fred Kinney, Mrs. Bob Neff, Mrs. Roy Jones, Mrs. A. M. George, Mrs. Frank Smith, Mrs. Denver Stores, Mrs. Quincy Timmons and Mrs. Joe Hagan.
His first wife, the former Sarah McConnell, the mother of the children, passed away Aug. 13, 1919.
The body will lie in state at the Morfoot Funeral home until time of services.
