Nicholas Gales Died at Davenport; Funeral at Colo

Special to the Journal:
Colo, Feb 23--Nicholas W. Gales, 73, former resident of Story county, died in Davenport, early today, just ten days less than a year of the time his wife passed away.

The body will arrive in Colo Friday afternoon and the funeral services, will be Saturday morning at 9:30 from St. Mary's church with Rev. Fr. Gorman in charge. Burial will be in St. James cemetery by the side of his wife.

The body will be at the home of nephew Roger Hopkins where it may be viewed by relatives and friends.

Mr. Gales live in Story county as a young man, being one engaged as a machinist in Nevada and later Colo where he operated a creamery and where he was married to Della McCoy. The family home had been at Davenport for many years, where their family had been raised.

Mr. and Mrs. Gales are survived by the one daughter Miss Ella Gales; and by four sons, Anthony Gales of Moline, Frank Gales of Sioux City and William and Roger of Davenport.
