DIED.
In Nevada, April 7th, GEORGE WASHINGTON, son of MR. and MRS. NELSON COX, aged one year and two months.
At the residence of her Uncle, Mr. Thomas Grayson, near the College Farm, Story Co., Iowa, on the morning of the 30th day of April 1864, MISS CLARA FISHER.
Although Clara had seen but nine short years, she possessed a remarkable quick understanding, "Ran swift in the ways of knowledge" and bid fair to become one of the most intelligent of her sex.
Though an orphan, she leaves many relatives, who sincerely mourn her loss. At school she was much esteemed by both teacher and pupils. She was one of the few whom to know is to love.
Dear Clara, thou art gone to rest
Thy spirit's now among the blest
Thy parents, who had gone before
Have welcomed you on Canaan's shore. At School no more your voice we hear,
No more you'll meet your comrades there,
We hope when all our lives shall end
In Heaven we'll be an unbroken band.
