M'CALLSBURG MAN DIED IN HOSPITAL

JOHN T. JOHNSEN WAS NATIVE OF DENMARK AND LIVED HERE MANY YEARS

John T. Johnson, 79, McCallsburg man, died at the Iowa Lutheran hospital, Des Moines, early Sunday, after he had been there for treatment for about ten days, according to work received by his sister, Mrs. Kate Rounds of this city.

The body was brought from Des Moines to the Morfoot Funeral home Sunday and this morning was taken to McCallsburg. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon. There will be services at the home at 1:00 and at the Presbyterian church at 1:30, with Rev. Ranbon of Des Moines in charge.

Mr. Johnsen was a native of Denmark, where he was born July 7, 1851. He came to America when a young man and was married to Miss Ida May Pederson at Rock Island, Ill., February 16, 1883. Nine children were born to them, of whom Charles and Peter are dead.

The wife died about three years ago and surviving children are Morris of Des Moines, Mrs. Ole Anfinson of Britt, Walter of Mountain Lake, Minn., Randolph and Alfred of Blue Earth and Albin of Waterloo. He also leaves 7 grandchildren and the sister Mrs. Rounds of Nevada.

He had been staying with the daughter Mrs. Anfinson for a time before he was taken ill, when he was brought back here and taken to the hospital in Des Moines.
