ONE CRASH VICTIM IS DEAD OF HIS INJURIES

Charles Booher, 26, of west Grant township is dead, a victim of injuries sustained in a motor car crash at an intersection a mile and a half west of Shipley, Thursday evening at 7:30.

He died at Iowa Sanitarium Friday night at 10:30 from the effects of a dislocation and fracture of vertebrae in his neck and various other injuries suffered in the accident in which eight people were injured, four of them, including Booher and his wife, quite seriously.

The wife is at Iowa Sanitarium, with a fractured skull resulting in a concussion and other injuries. Today her condition is reported as "favorable."

Others injured in the crash which occurred when cars driven by Booher's father-in-law, Hans Lange, northbound and another driven by Galen Bates east bound, collided and went over are getting along as well as might be hoped for.

The wreck victim is the youngest son of the late V. L. Booher, was raised in Nevada, but is now married and has with his wife and three-year-old baby boy, been living with her people, Mr. and Mrs. Lange, in west Grant township.

At the time of the crash they were on their way to a threshermen's picnic southwest of Ames.

Booher leaves besides his wife and baby boy, two sisters, and a number of brothers.

The sisters are Mrs. Matilda Ford of Nevada and Mrs. Cora Conklin of Denver, Colo.

The brothers are Marion Booher of Boulder Colo., Winnie Booher of Idaho, Howard Booher of Des Moines, Frank Booher of Prairie City and Oscar Booher of Charles City.

Charles was the youngest child of the family. The father died in California about three years ago and the body was brought back here for interment.

He was a cousin of Mrs. Charles Chaflin and an nephew of John P. Booher of Nevada.

The funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Morfoot Funeral home, after which interment will be in the Nevada cemetery. In case it is learned that some of the relatives from away will not be able to get here by that time, the service my be postponed.
