Alice Buck, age 88, of Ames, Iowa passed away at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames on July 28, 2018.

The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 610 15th Street, in Ames. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery, State Center, Iowa.

Alice was born February 13, 1930 in Enterprise, Wisconsin, the daughter of Adolph and Bertha Schoeneck. She married Earl (Chub) Buck on November 13, 1954 in State Center, Iowa. The couple lived in State Center where she became the District Secretary for the West Marshall Community School District. She retired early, and the couple moved to Ames, so Alice could faithfully care for Chub and his failing health. She was involved at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ames, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, volunteered for Lutherans For Life, and prepared baked goods for the local hospice.

Alice is survived by her son, Mike (Cyndee) Buck, three grandsons, Chad (Kerry) Buck, Ryan (Katie) Buck and Adam Buck, 4 great grandchildren, Jaedyn, Jacob, Daniel and Alex Buck, two sisters, Olga Kastner and Alcena Haislmaier.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Jan Buck, 5 brothers and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Ames or Lutheran Services in Iowa.
