Larry Kahl Sesker was born on January 24, 1939, in Cambridge, Iowa, on Tillson Hill to Kahl John Sesker and Georgia (Sutton) Sesker. He was called home to be with the Lord on July 23, 2018, at the age of 79.

Larry graduated from Cambridge High School in 1957 and attended Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa, where he played basketball.

In 1959, he married Anita Pierce, and to this union 3 children were born. In 1999 he married Linda (Kuhlemeier) Riel.

Larry was passionate about his work. He was employed by the Iowa Highway Commission in 1962 and then Veenstra and Kimm Engineering in 1966, where he retired in 2004.

Larry loved his grandchildren: Kelsey (David) Ziemann, Mallory Schultze, Korbin Kahl Sesker, Mariah Schwager, Aubrey Sesker, Wesley Schwager, and Grace Sesker. He valued every minute he spent with them over the past 28 years.

Larry also enjoyed farming, golf, hunting, breakfast with friends, Saturday dinners at the Dorcas Hall, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He will be remembered for his big smile and the way he would help others in need.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, sister Vivian, brothers-in-law Tom Berhow, Curtis Schwab, Steven Pierce, Jack Pierce, John Pierce, and sister-in-law Dorothy Pierce.

He is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Lori (Kevin) Schultze and Julie (Steve) Schwager, son Kahl (Melanie) Sesker, sisters Dorothy Berhow, Nancy Schwab, and Linda Sinclair, his 7 grandchildren, and step family Lori Riel and Doug Riel, Ryan (Kelli) Gordon and their daughter Madisyn, Rachel Gordon, and Ross Gordon.

Memorial donations in memory of Larry may be made to the Cambridge United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1 from 10-noon at the United Methodist Church in Cambridge with a celebration of life to follow.

Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
