Wayne Edward Culpepper passed away July 28, 2018, in Ames, Iowa. He is survived by his wife Ann Egeland, daughter Jodi Maciejewski and husband Duane, daughter Julie Davis and husband Brad, grandsons Spencer and Graham, daughter-in-law Becky Luing and husband Rod, grandkids Michkayla and Carter. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marie, and brother Herb.

Wayne was born September 22, 1947, in Norfolk Virginia to William “Cully” and Alma (Grimstead) Culpepper. In 1950, the family moved to Beaver, Iowa and ultimately settled in Webster City, Iowa in 1957. Wayne graduated from Webster City High School in 1965, and joined the Air Force where he proudly served our country. He spent time in Turkey during his time in the Air Force and often spoke of his experience overseas. Wayne spent most of his career working for Sauer Danfoss in Ames, and retired as an Operations Planner in 2009. He loved to bowl, golf, play cards, listen to music, watch the Yankees, and spend time with family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 11:00 at Soderstrum-Reimers Funeral Home, 512 Main Street, Jewell, IA 50130. A luncheon will immediately follow at Axis Lanes in Jewell.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Heart Association in honor of Wayne.
