Pauline R. Ness was born on January 16, 1929 in Boone County to Jesse and Lillian (Nelson) Ross. She graduated from Jewell High School and married Robert Ness on March 28, 1948. He died May 10, 2011. Pauline was a homemaker and also taught piano and accordion lessons for many years. She was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church, where she played the organ, sang in the choir and was a deacon. Pauline enjoyed crocheting, quilting, doing crafts and collecting bells.

Pauline passed away July 9, 2018 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames at the age of 89.

She is survived by three sons, Mike (Mary) Ness of Story City, David (Kris) Ness of Grinnell and Jon (Amy) Ness of Waukee; a daughter, Kathy (Randy) Pedersen of West Branch; 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; a sister, Dorothy Ross; a brother, James Ross; a step father, Earl Davis;a half-sister, Katherine Davis Williams and two half-brothers, Kenneth and Marvin Davis.
