JESSE WILLIMS DIED SUDDENLY
WELL-KNOWN FARMER VICTIM OF PNEUMONIA--FUNERAL SUNDAY
Jesse M. Williams, 51, well-known farmer died very suddenly at his home two miles northeast of Fernald, Friday morning at 8:00. Double pneumonia caused his death after an illness of but four days.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Christian Church in Collins, after which interment will be in the Collins cemetery.
Mr. Williams, who had recently purchased and moved onto the farm northeast of here, had been in his usual health until one morning the first of the week. Mrs. Williams had driven to town to take the daughter to school and upon her return home found him ill and when a doctor was called it was found that he had a very high fever.
He was given the very best and almost constant medical care and everything possible was done for him but he grew rapidly worse until Friday morning when he passed away.
Mr. Williams was a native of Collins township, where he was born November 14, 1878. He died in Richland township Friday, April 18, 1930, at the age of 51 years, 5 months and 3 days.
He was united in marriage to Miss Edith Stevens, August 1, 1912, and three children were born to this union. Two survive the father, they being Amos Grant Williams, 17, and Huberta Edith Williams, 13. One daughter, Wilmette Annette Williams, died at the age of 9 months.
Mr. Williams leaves besides his wife and two children, two sisters. The sisters are MRs. Hattie McCord and Mrs. John Lafferty both of the Collins neighborhood.
Mr. and Mrs. Williams had lived for several years on a farm near Shipley but had moved last March onto a farm two miles northeast of Fernald, where the sudden death of Mr. Williams occurred.
Mr. Williams was a man of very fine character, industrious and of strict integrity and his death comes as a distinct shock to the family, as well as a wide circle of friends.
