Jeffrey Keene Cox, 58, of Ames, Iowa, passed away May 31, 2018 at the Israel Family Hospice House. Jeff was born to Dean and Willa Jeane Cox on Sept. 9, 1958, in Centerville, Iowa.

Jeff graduated from Wayne Community High School in 1977 and Hamilton Business College in 2001. Jeff attended many churches and he considered himself a non-denominationalist. He was a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. He had many brothers and sisters in Christ. He enjoyed serving the Lord through jail ministry, itinerant preaching and worshipping the Lord using his talent as a guitarist in various worship teams and bands.

He is survived by his companion, Julie Roberts of Ames; daughter, Jennifer Wilson (Lance) of Mercer, Mo., son, Josiah Cox of Centerville; two grandchildren, Trey and Aubrey Wilson of Mercer, Mo.; sister, Christine Elston (Todd) of Kirkland, Wash., sister, Joyce Hysell of West Des Moines; aunts, uncles, many cousins, nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Willa Jeane Cox and brother-in-law, Bob Hysell.

A memorial service will be held, June 16 at 2 p.m. at the Cambria Baptist Church in Cambria. Visitation will be held prior to services beginning at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Israel Family Hospice House and mailed to Jennifer Wilson, 13514 Birch Pl. Mercer, MO 64661.
