Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Alvin J. Pierce was born on June 17, 1952 in Nevada, Iowa to Richard and Flossy (Hopper) Pierce. He grew up in Nevada and lived in Des Moines until moving to Roland 4 years ago. Al married Tracy Hartwig on May 21, 1996. He enjoyed all things outdoors including camping, fishing, hunting and hiking. Al liked to work with his hands, putting models together and doing yardwork. He was a very social person and his family and close friends were very important to him.

Al is survived by his wife, Tracy of Roland; his children, Britt (Rachel), James Curtis, Mike Parsons, David Krish, Sarah, Jason (Kristina) Pierce, John Pierce, Brian Palm, Joshua Loveridge and Megan Loveridge; 10 grandchildren, Dominic, Noah, Faith, Lou, Dillon, Chyana, Kelton, Kaylor, John, Jr. and K.C.; a brother, Robert (Sylvia); three sisters, Beverly (Bob) Sickel, Ruth Yockum, and Sandy (Herman) Corin.

He was preceded by his parents; a son, Billy; two brothers, Jim and Ray and a sister Donna.
