Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Elinor A. Anderson-Christensen, 96, met her Savior and entered her Heavenly home on April 25, 2018.
Elinor Aileen Lee was born on January 30, 1922 to Jacob and Edith Lee of rural Buffalo Center, Iowa. She was the oldest of her four siblings. Elinor attended Buffalo Center School until her father passed away when she was 14 years old. Her family then moved to Cambridge, Iowa where she became a member of Palestine Lutheran Church. Elinor graduated from Cambridge High School in 1940 and soon married the love her life, Maurice Stanley Anderson on July 31, 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union were born Darlene, Janice, Duane and Donald. Elinor and Maurice farmed south of Huxley, Iowa and in 1960 built a house in Huxley. Elinor began working for the Iowa Department of Transportation and retired in 1982. He Love Language was “Acts of Service”; she loved to bless people by her kind deeds. Elinor was a “Giver” and had an unquenchable energy that helped her tackle every project. She sewed, gardened, canned, did handwork, made quilts and loved to spoil her grandchildren! She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother and even a great-great grandmother. Her love, Maurice died of cancer on May 14, 1991. On November 11, 2000 Elinor married Leroy Christensen at Palestine Lutheran Church and moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota. Following the death of Leroy she moved back to the area in 2014 to be closer to family. Elinor resided at the Madrid Home until her passing.

Elinor’s love was large! She is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Chuck) Buche, Duane (Claudia) Anderson, Don (Cindy) Anderson, son-in-law Melvin Vetter, 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ole and Martha Severeid, parents, Jacob and Edith Lee (Richardson), husband Maurice Anderson, daughter Janice Vetter, daughter-in-law Linda Anderson, siblings Verlaine Sherick, Orion Lee, Oriette Younces, Lavona Lee and great grandson Ryan Fraaken.
