Betty J. Henderson, 91, of McCallsburg, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg, Iowa from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church with Pastor Kathy Sandmann officiating. Burial will follow in the Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg, Iowa.
Betty was born on November 1, 1926 in Milford, Iowa to Albert and Amelia (Ziegler) Burley. She attended and graduated high school from Milford Township. Not long after graduation she married the love of her life Cecil Henderson on November 14, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio. The young couple lived in Ohio, Colorado, Tennessee, before moving back to Iowa where they began farming. Betty was actively involved on the family farm. Betty later took a position with the NESCO School District as a financial secretary a position she held for over 30 years until her retirement. Betty was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg and was very active in the church and many civic organizations. Betty loved her family but especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed flowers and gardening, reading, baking, helping people with a smile on her face, and enjoyed being a faithful follower of all Colo-NESCO school activities.
Those left to cherish Betty's loving memory are her son Larry (Sharon) Henderson of Slayton, MN; grandchildren Amy Henderson of Champlin, MN, Andy (Mandy) Henderson of Fargo, ND, Annie (Matt) Bartholomew of Linolakes, MN, and Matt (Nicole) Henderson of Altoona, IA; great-grandchildren Brenner, Braelyn, LuLu, and Madison; special friend Phyllis Burnett; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband Cecil; son John Henderson; siblings Albert, Lowell, Marvin, Virgil, Joe, Ethel, Alyce, and Esther; and Jack Pfantz.

Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing has been entrusted with the care of Betty and her family.
