Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

A. David Twit passed away April 11, 2018 at Mercy Hospital. He was cremated. Services will be held at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Slater, Iowa on Monday April 16, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. with visitation one hour before.

David was born March 19, 1938 to Hubert and Helen Twit. He married Darla Carlson August 30, 1962. He received his B.S. from the University of Iowa, his Masters from Drake and was a teacher for Saydel Schools, finishing his career at Heartland AEA 11 in 2001.

His interests included history, reading, politics, movies and sports of all kinds, especially anything Iowa Hawkeyes. But he especially enjoyed his Boston Terries “buddies” Spencer, Jesse, Cooper, and Casey.

David is survived by Darla, his wife and best friend of 55 years, his brother Robert (Vicki) Twit of Ames, his sister-in-law Jana (Brian) Cox of Grimes, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Charles and Arlene Raker, and his sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Dale Sampson.

Memorial contributions suggested to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
