THOMAS A. HEREIM

Thomas A. Hereim, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Hereim, was born in Milford township Jan. 23, 1879, and died at his home March 23, at the age of 76 years and two months.

He was baptized and confirmed in Bergen Lutheran church at Roland. He was a longtime member.

On Oct. 5, 1901, he was united in marriage to Susie Erickson. They had five children. Two died in infancy and a daughter Avis, Mrs. Fred Bohning, died in July, 1933. He is survived by his wife, Susie, and a daughther, Myrtie, Mrs. Art Sandford of Blue Island, Ill., a son Otis, at home, a granddaughter, Marilyn, Mrs. Jean Bauer, and one great-granddaughter, Larrie Lyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Andrew O. Hereim and two brothers, Ole Hereim and Andrew Hereim and a sister, Julia, Mrs. Chris Hall.

Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at Erickson funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Bergen Lutheran church with Rev. A. E. Nelson in charge. At the service at the funeral home, Otto Hanson sang "Den Stove Hvide Flak Vi Se." At the service at the church, the Bergen Sextette sang "Abide With Me" and "Just As I Am."

In charge of floral offerings were Mesdames Gerald Borwick and Arnold Cole. Pallbearers were nephews of Mr. Hereim, Herbert Erickson, Henry Erickson, Jesse Hall, John Hereim, Marvin Thompson and Arthur Milton Michaelson, Jr.

Those attending from a distance were from Aitkin and Lakefield, Minn., Goodell, Belmond, Des Moines, Atlantic, Waterloo, Clarion, Huxley, Ames, Nevada, Story City, McCallsburg and Prairie City.
