JOHN SCHULER

ZEARING -- John Schuler, son of John and Elizabeth Schuler, was born near Zearing Sept. 12, 1885, and died Feb. 3 at his home in Marshalltown at the age of 70 years, four months and 22 days.

He was married to Alta Bryant March 9, 1905, and they spent most of their lives in the Zearing community.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Goldie Chance, Zearing; two sons, Manford, Zearing, and Lawrence, Marshalltown; a granddaughter, Mrs. Maxine Wildeboer, and a great-grandchild, Steven Wildeboer; five brothers, Will, Colo; Alvin, Fernald; Ed, Nevada; Fernie, Union; Charlie, Welcome, Minn., and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Wengert, State Center; Minnie Udhe, Marshalltown, and Lizzie Take, Baraboo, Wis.

His wife, four small children, a brother and a sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Schuler was confirmed in the Lutheran Church when a young man and later his membership was transferred to the Christian Church at Zearing.
