Ardyce Jurine Bergeson, 97 of Nevada, IA, formerly of Story City, IA, died peacefully January 21, 2018 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, IA.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Rasmusson Funeral Home in Nevada, IA.

Ardyce was born April 14, 1920 to Arnold and Agnes (Johnson) Henderson in Hamilton Co near Randall, IA. She was baptized, confirmed & married at Elim Lutheran Church in Randall, IA. After graduating from Randall high school in 1938, she attended a business school in Chillicothe, MO and then worked at the Triple A office in Webster City, IA.

Ardyce married Howard Bergeson on August 24, 1940. They moved to a farm near Radcliffe, IA where they farmed for about 18 years and raised their 2 children.

Ardyce loved helping Howard in the field and enjoyed gardening, and baking anything & everything. She loved her Norwegian heritage making Kringla, Lefse, Krumkaka & Kumla.

Ardyce had a strong faith and loved her Lord and Savior. She was active in many church organizations including teaching Sunday school, playing the piano & organ, ladies aid and singing in the choir at the Salem Lutheran Church in Radcliffe, IA.

In 1961 they moved to Roland, IA for a year, then to north Ames, IA – retiring in Story City, IA. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City, IA. She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, entertaining friends, and camping, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She and Howard were able to travel to all 50 states in their camper & winter in McAllen, TX for many years.

Ardyce is survived by 2 children: Dennis (Diana) Bergeson of Cedar Falls, IA and Nancy (Larry) Christian of Nevada, IA; 6 grandchildren: Debra (John) Buck of Fenton, MO, Brent Christian of Ames, IA, Dan (Kristen) Bergeson of Superior, Co, Brad (Julie) Christian of Byron, IL, Denise Doyle of Cedar Falls, IA, and Stephanie (Mike) Anderson of Nevada, IA; 14 great-grandchildren: Christian & Jeffrey Buck, Talia Christian, Conner, MacKenzie & Blake Bergeson, Nicholas, Natalie & Ryer Christian, Alexa, Megan, Ashley & Kaitlyn Doyle, Michael Anderson Jr.; and 1 great-great granddaughter: Maci Anderson

Ardyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother Curtis Henderson; a sister Marjorie Anderson and a great-grandson Thomas Anderson
