Mary Olson, a girl of nineteen years who was working in the family of W. H. Gallup at Boone, committed suicide by drowning in the sistern [sic] at her mothers home on the night of May 1st. She was a native of Boone and a graduate of the high school, and had for some time suffered from depression caused by the death of her brother and the absconding of her father.
