Christopher Terrence Tuttle
December 19, 1978 - November 11, 2017Christopher Tuttle, 38, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 in Chicago, IL. Chris was born and raised in Ames, Iowa. He graduated from Ames High School in 1997. He attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and graduated in 2001 with a degree in Vocal Music Performance.
Chris was well-known for his musical talent he shared with the Ames community. He started his performance career with ACTORS and productions at Ames High. At Northwestern, Chris was an active performer in many productions and concerts. After graduating, Chris remained in Chicago and performed at several venues including Navy Pier and Drury Lane theaters. Chris moved to New York City where he performed with, directed, and produced The Story Pirates, a children's theater company, of which he was a founding member.
Chris returned to Chicago where he lived for six years and worked in the restaurant business. Chris's charismatic smile and genuine personality brought many friends together over the course of his life. Chris will always be remembered as a vibrant, loving person who shared his passion for life with others.
Chris is survived by his mother, Karen Tuttle of Ames; two sisters, Jennifer (Kyle) Meeske of Bettendorf and Emily (Isaac) Law of Ames. Chris was also a proud uncle to Abigail and Logan Meeske and Julia, Charles, and Audrey Law. He was preceded in death by his father, Terrence Tuttle of Ames; his grandparents, Ivan and Mary Jo Tuttle of Ames, Jack and Margaret Foy of Fremont, NE; and his aunt Mary Ann Fleck of Laguna Nigel, CA.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 4th, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Christopher Tuttle Memorial at First National Bank of Ames, 405 5th Street, Ames, IA 50010, to establish a scholarship in his name.
