Inez Louise Sesker, 92 of Maxwell, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny.
Inez was born November 23, 1924, in Sheldahl, Iowa the daughter of Russell and Velma (Stoneburner) Nelson. She graduated from Luther High School in 1942 and on January 27, 1945, Inez was united in marriage to Nelland Sesker in Boone. During WWII, Inez worked at the Ordinance Plant making ammunition. She lived 43 years on the farm before moving into Maxwell. Inez was a member of the Loring United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. She enjoyed playing cards and dominos, dancing, gardening and supporting the Iowa State Cyclones and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Inez was a hard-working farm wife and a loving mother and grandmother.
Inez is survived by her sons: Stephen Sesker (Mary Peterson) of Des Moines and Gary (Judy) Sesker of Maxwell; her daughter, Peggy (Hubert) Vespestad of Maxwell; 10 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers: Virgil and Vernon Nelson.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 25 at the Loring United Methodist Church near Maxwell with inurnment to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Loring United Methodist Church or UnityPoint Hospice.
