Lillian Ida Tegels was born September 23, 1922 in Fonda, Iowa to William and Matilda (Loll) Kruckenberg. She married Leonard Tegels on March 12, 1940. He died February 28, 1986. Lillian moved to Story City in 1990. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed collecting swans, quilting, camping and all of the family activities. Lillian enjoyed riding with Leonard in their Model T in parades and were members of the Tall Corn Car Club.

Lillian passed away October 16, 2017 at Bethany Manor in Story City at the age of 95.

She is survived by a son, Leroy (Joy) Tegels of Williford, Arkansas; two daughters, Shirley (Duane) Wheeler of Story City and Laura McFarland of Hurst, Texas; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a great-great grandson; and a sister, Wilda Johnson of Clinton, Missouri.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son-in-law, John McFarland; a brother, Delmor; and two sisters, Nina Beck and Adeline Nelson.

Memorials may be made out to Bethany Life Communities.
