Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Kathy Kozlowski 54, of Slater lost her battle with cancer on September 30, 2017. She was surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her home. A Gathering of Friends will take place Saturday, October 7, from 2- 4:00 pm at Adams Funeral Home in Ames, Iowa.

Kathy Jo (Lyttle) Kozlowski was born October 29, 1962 in Ames to Joan (Anderson) Lyttle and later adopted by James Lyttle. She graduated from Ballard High School in 1981 and Bernel Beauty College in 1991. In recent years, she became a home care provider which was extremely rewarding to her as she has always had a big heart. Kathy was a proud mother and she didn't hesitate to make that known. Kathy was a great cook and had a love for music, animals, and the Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed traveling, singing karaoke, going to the casino, spending time with her family, who she loved very much, and spoiling her dog, Cheese. Kathy was a fighter! Kathy's strength, courage, resilience, and love all live on in her daughter, Tawni and in the memories of all those who knew her.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Tawni Swanson of Ankeny; mother, Joan Lyttle of Boonville, MO; two brothers, Lonnie Lyttle of Houston, TX and Patrick McCoy of Randall; two sisters, Jennifer (Todd) Fleharty of Boonville, MO and Beth (Aaron) Plaskas of Grimes and numerous family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and her grandparents.
