Chilled to Death While Drunk

Matthew Elliott, a young man about town and a step son of Reis McKee, was found dead about nine o'clock this morning by Pete Mathison in the corner of the latter's field very near to the old creamery location north of track. The last known of him was about seven o'clock last evening, when he left the home of his sister, Mrs. Sam Bates in the same neighborhood without coat or hat and having been drinking. The only inference possible is that he went out into the field, lay down and the place being muddy and the night cold enough to that it snowed some he died sometime during the night. Coroner Glenn was notified at Colo and came over and inspected the body and the situation deciding that no inquest was necessary.
